January Highlights and CALL TO ACTION!

Welcome to 2022, AORN Grand Canyon Chapter members!

Just wanted to make a consolidated post containing several important announcements!

1. If you haven't already done so, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, respond to AORN's Surgical Smoke Evacuation Survey ASAP. Click HERE to do so, or copy/paste this url: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PTJ53YS If we don't get enough responses by 1/17, smoke evacuation legislation in AZ is in danger of failing before the 2022 legislative session even starts!
2.  Please consider registering for our January chapter meeting coming up this Saturday, 1/8. The event will be held live at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, but you can also opt to attend virtually. When registering, be sure to indicate which attendance type ("LIVE" or "VIRTUAL"). The 1.0 CE presentation will highlight recent changes to the AORN Guidelines for Surgical Smoke Safety and Retained Surgical Items.
3. If you have already registered for the March or May meetings, please verify that your registration reflects the correct event *LIVE* or *VIRTUAL* and cancel/re-register if needed.
4. Moving forward, please note when registering for the March and May chapter meetings there are *LIVE* and *VIRTUAL* events to facilitate an accurate count for lunches and meeting space. Please register for the appropriate attendance type, as instructions for the Zoom meeting will only be available to attendees who register for the virtual event.
