Grand Canyon Chapter of AORN

Chapter Meeting Reminder

Posted over 9 years ago by Lin Boyes

The Grand Canyon Chapter looks forward to seeing everyone for the first meeting of 2015. Just a friendly reminder that our regular chapter meeting will be held at Thompson Peak Hospital on Jan 10th at 10 am. Our meeting will include two CEs, Past, Present, and Future of Sterilization Technology and Sterility Assurance Monitoring and Staying Current with ANSI/AAMI ST79.

Furthermore, the volunteer committee would like to ask for food box donations to accompany our chapter meeting. We are asking interested members to bring non-perishable food items that compose a meal, for example a box could be composed of a loaf of bread, peanut butter, and a bag of fruit. Please keep in mind that any donation will be put to good use for those in need, so don't hesitate to bring whatever you can.
The food items are donated to Casa San Juan in Tucson. The center serves marginalized populations including families living in poverty, homeless families, and immigrant families. As well as offering immediate help with food, Casa San Juan offers clothing, medical and shelter assistance. Furthermore, they provide advocacy, education, resources and immigration related assistance. For more information about the work done at Casa San Juan visit their website at http://www.casasanjuan.org/.

For further information or question about food donations please feel free to contact Paati at Patricia.Amaro@va.gov or Lin at lwboyes@gmail.com

Thanks for your interest and participation in this project.

Thanks to all for your donation in November. The minute I delivered the food it was put into food boxes to be picked up that day! If you have concerns or have another organization in mind please feel free to let me know. Happy Holidays to all!
